Job Description Job Description Electrical Maintenance Technician – Industrial Bakery Shifts Available: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM 10:30 PM – 6:00 AM Job Summary The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electro?mechanical equipment used in high?speed industrial bakery production. This role ensures equipment uptime, supports food?safety and plant?safety standards, and performs preventive maintenance to keep production lines running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on bakery production machinery, including ovens, mixers, conveyors, proofers, packaging equipment, and automated systems. Diagnose and correct issues involving motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, control panels, and low?voltage/medium?voltage components. Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PMs) to reduce downtime and ensure reliable operation of all electrical equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to support troubleshooting and installations. Install and maintain electrical components including wiring, switches, breakers, contactors, lighting, and power distribution equipment. Support equipment changeovers, line startups, and shutdowns to ensure smooth production flow. Follow GMP, HACCP, and plant safety standards while working in a food-production environment. Document all work performed, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities in the CMMS system. Collaborate with mechanics, production supervisors, and quality staff to resolve equipment issues efficiently. Respond to breakdowns quickly during shift to minimize production interruptions. Qualifications 2 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; food production preferred. Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, VFDs, sensors, motors, and control logic. Ability to safely work with energized and de?energized circuits following lockout/tagout procedures. Experience with PLC-driven equipment (basic troubleshooting; advanced skills a plus). Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast?paced production environments. Must be able to work independently on either shift (2nd or 3rd). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coconut Creek, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
