Job Summary and Qualifications The Labor & Delivery RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Labor & Delivery Unit has 8 Labor beds, 2 OR’s, 3 Obed (obstetrics emergency department) and 3 Antepartum beds. There is a midwife on unit, occasionally. The L&D RN will treat expecting mothers providing support before, during and after labor. In this position, you will: Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs Carries out physician orders Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems What qualifications you will need: Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision) Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) NRP & AWHONN Certifications (30 Day Grace Period) 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred Benefits HCA Florida Palms West Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
