We are currently seeking a Nursing Instructor who will provide
the expertise and knowledge that support our high school curriculum
and program. The instructor will teach students using a variety of
effective methodologies and provide engagement and support
activities that encourage student learning. The role of the Nursing
Instructor encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising,
professional development and institutional and community
Teaches lecture and laboratory sections. Evaluates and advises
Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline.
Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by
reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and
Complete the necessary administrative work required for classes
in a timely manner.
Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes,
including a comprehensive syllabus for special interest classes,
handouts, quizzes, tests and assignments as needed for each course.
Be involved in the development and running of extra-curricular
activities and school activities, as requested by the principal
academic office or the CTE Director
Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic,
socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with
Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a
learning-centered environment Self-disciplined and able to
effectively manage others.
Plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and
materials that assist students in meeting course objectives and
which are appropriate for students with differing educational and
experiential backgrounds and learning styles.
Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement
of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in
the course in a timely manner.
Keep accurate student records and submit related reports and
forms within requested timelines.
Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning
Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to
Demonstrate competence and interest in the use of technology in
the classroom and willingness to explore new instructional
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues,
and the community.
Actively participate in department, school meetings and/ or
Associate degree or higher in Nursing field
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry
Must possess and demonstrate knowledge of current Nursing
Strong presentation and communication skills
Experience training and coaching
Must undergo background check
- Active Florida Nursing License (RN or LPN)
- Two years nursing experience
- One year of experience in nursing home services, ie. care of
elderly or chronically ill of any age, including supervision of
Certified Nursing Assistant
- One year of experience in urgent or emergency care
- Experience in teaching preferred
